The Unflatness Measurement PRO is the system’s proactive version and features an integrated REDEX controller that enables immediate flatness correction right after the leveler.
With the Unflatness Measurement System PRO, metal strips first pass through the S-Block zone’s UMSi seamless roll for high-tension measurement. At the line exit, the UMS-LT roll then measures strip flatness under low tension. The system achieves approximately 98% measurement accuracy at the S-Block and up to 99.5% accuracy at the line exit. The result: highly precise monitoring and flatness control, allowing for strict adherence to tight tolerances.
UMS PRO features include:
- Dynamic switching between high- and low-flatness measurement rolls.
- Effective elimination of unregulated material — up to 75 meters — since the system activates before the strip enters the high-tension zone, thereby delivering considerable cost savings.
