Load Cells Feature Enhanced Signal Integrity for Tension Measurement
We’re introducing an innovative load cell package that combines versatility and space savings while also addressing a frequent tension measurement problem during unwinding fiber or web products. Our latest-generation WAT+ sensor comes with a signal amplifier embedded into its core which addresses electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring highly reliable measurement signals, even through a slip ring or rotary union. The amplified signal can be directly transmitted to a programmable logic controller (PLC) or drive for process control, and there is no need for additional wiring or electronics. By integrating a precision brake, digital control and load cell, the solution provides accurate measurement, stability and space savings for automated tape layup and automated fiber placement applications.
This new load cell package covers the 50N-250N-500N (10 to 100 pounds) tension measurement ranges, and a 5000N (1,100 pounds) high-tension range is available on demand. The load cell can be used on a single spool, creels and multi-spool applications. In addition, the original WAT+ design accommodates a host of pulley or shaft configurations, including cantilever mounting.
