Here’s a small sample of what you’ll see at our booth. Together, these products can constitute an accurate, high-performance and reliable tension control system that also saves space.
- WAT+ package. This force transducer features a universal design that can accommodate a variety of accessories, pulley or shaft configurations, including cantilever mounting. In fact, users can design their own accessories to meet various specifications such as shape, length or surface treatments. Customers can even save on costs by using the same accessories regardless of the tension range they select. This versatility makes WAT+ suitable for a wide range of applications. Here’s a glimpse of WAT+ sizing, specs and mounting information.
- WAT+.sp. Our latest-generation WAT+ load cell comes with a signal amplifier embedded into its core which addresses electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring strong and highly reliable measurement signals — even through a slip ring or rotary union. The amplified signal can be directly transmitted to a programmable logic controller (PLC) or drive for process control, with no need for additional wiring or electronics. By integrating a precision brake, digital control and load cell, the solution provides accurate measurement, stability and space savings for automated tape layup, automated fiber placement in composite applications as well as planetary rotating in cable applications and converting applications.
- Dual solution. A standard WAT+ can be integrated on one side of the roller and the WAT+.sl on the other side of the roller. This arrangement balances deflection between the two units and protects against misalignment or zero measurement drift issues. WAT+.sl is gauge-free and does not require connectors, making it a cost-effective option when the web is always centered on rollers.
- Digital Controllers. These all-in-one controller solutions include a built-in precision amplifier, P.I.D. regulation algorithm and built-in power supply for a brake or clutch.
- DGT300+ controller. The DGT300+ supports both closed-loop and open-loop applications, diameter feedback or position regulation for dancer applications, or measurement feedback with load cells. Advanced, user-friendly Microsoft software is provided for easy setting, and it also facilitates live acquisition recording. - DG-Block controller. The DG-Block offers similar features as the DGT300+ but comes in a compact DIN-mount unit for an electrical panel and a USB type B connector for communication. See why DG-Block is the new benchmark in closed loop digital control.
- EMP brakes. Merobel electric brakes use magnetic particle technology to provide smooth torque transmission that is proportional to current and independent of r.p.m. These brakes feature clean, dust-free and silent operation. Merobel offers a wide range of brakes and clutches from 0.05 lb/ft to 400 lb/ft.
